Pledge to Fight for Health Care Reform That Meets the Needs of Women & Their Families

z Three Women Looking to the Right 125

Too many women struggle to get the health care they need. The consequences of our broken health care system can greatly damage women’s health, work, and financial well-being.

Take the pledge to fight for health care reform that meets the needs of women and their families.

  • I pledge to speak up for health care that is:
    • Affordable: Health care costs should be limited by a family’s ability to pay so that women and their families can get the care they need.
    • Comprehensive: Health care reform should ensure comprehensive coverage of health care services that people need both to stay healthy and to be treated when they are ill, all throughout their lives.
    • Fair: Any plan for health reform should ensure that health insurance companies treat people fairly, by ending discriminatory practices that improperly deny or overcharge for coverage based on a person’s health history, age, or gender. We should have a real choice; keep the insurance you have if you like it, or choose between a private and public health insurance plan.
    • Equitable: Health care reform must ensure there are no gaps in access to care, and work to eliminate disparities in health care access that currently exist.
  • I pledge to speak up for women and their families who need meaningful health care reform this year.
  • I pledge to tell five people about the Reform Matters project.
