Contact Your Senators: Stop a Sneak Attack on the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act

CourtsRecently, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, introduced an “alternative” bill to compete with the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Misleadingly named the “Title VII Fairness Act,” Senator Hutchison’s bill would force victims of pay discrimination to surmount unfair hurdles before they could vindicate their right to equal pay. Learn more about the issue or take action now.

 

House Passes the Paycheck Fairness Act

 I Deserve Equal Pay In a hard-earned victory, the House of Representatives passed the Paycheck Fairness Act on July 31 with a vote of 247 to 178. This bill marks a critical step toward closing the wage gap between men and women. It updates and strengthens the Equal Pay Act of 1963, closing loopholes and improving the law’s effectiveness.
